Meet iowegian
|
Hi, my other name is Eleanor. After living in many different places, I have
found my rooting spot in Iowa. We moved here about a year and a half ago, and
love it. We have 5 1/2 acres with two houses, one of which we rent out. We have
a nice grove of trees, some ancient outbuildings, and a lovely orchard with
apple, cherry, plum, and elderberry. Turning a city girl into a country girl
takes a lot more work than I expected, but am enjoying the process.
My husband, Tom, was born and raised on a farm, so he is in his element with all
the mowing and gardening and driving the tractor thru the woods. He looks so
cute in his striped bib overalls! Of course, I may be a bit prejudiced about
that, seeing as how we have been married since July of 2001! It is said that
good things come to those who wait, and he is such a good thing for me!
Between Tom and I, we have 7 children, 21 grandkids, and 2 great-grands. I have
no problems trying to find places for all the quilts I have either made or are
in the planning stage. I have only been quilting for about 10 years after
spending nearly 50 years sewing clothes for myself and as a business.
Both Tom and I are retired from outside employment and fully enjoy doing what we
like, when we like to do it! Tom is still in his Bluegrass band, but that is
more fun than work. Being here as an op gives me the opportunity to talk to
people around the world about something I love to do - quilt!!
